PREMIERE | The Silver Snails Release Bewitching ‘Beatrice Russo’

Based in Romagna, Italy, indie-pop outfit The Silver Snails introduce their latest music video, “Beatrice Russo,” a track from their album The 7 Melodies.

Made up of Lucas Ward and Elisa Fantini, The Silver Snails seek to “unite cultures and races around the world.” To accomplish this, they blend elements of ’60s pop-rock, pan-global folk, jazz, and Baroque into ethereal soundscapes, both gentle and glossy with effulgent beauty.

“Beatrice Russo” channels the wistful quixotic narrative of the protagonists from Il Postino. Beatrice’s beauty motivates a simple mailman to write poetry, causing her to fall in love with him. Yet the romance, like that of Romeo and Juliet, is beyond reach, as fate intervenes.
